An introduction to the SWC professionals
Michelle L. Hughes, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Hughes is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with a medical interest in operative laparoscopy and high-risk pregnancy. She is a graduate of Brown University in Providence, RI, and completed an internship and residency at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT. She is a Member of MMS, ACOG, AMWA, and Physicians for Social Responsibility.
Ericka M. Hersh, DO, MPH, ABOG Board Eligible

Dr. Hersh is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she simultaneously earned her Masters of Public Health degree. She completed her residency at East Carolina University / Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. She is a member of AMA, ACOG, and AAGL. Her interests include minimally invasive surgery and high risk obstetrics. She is proficient in Spanish.
Alyssa R. Kratochvil, DO, Board Eligible

Dr. Kratochvil is a board-eligible obstetrician-gynecologist who earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. She completed her residency at State University of New York at Buffalo, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Kratochvil has a special interest in high risk obstetrics and affordable and responsible healthcare and was awarded 1 st place in residency for her research project on physician’s knowledge of the cost of healthcare. Dr. Kratochvil was also awarded 1 st place in her residency program for her skills in minimally invasive surgery. She is a member of ACOG and AAGL.
Constance M. Gillett, RN, WHNP

Ms.
Gillett earned a master’s degree from Boston College in Women’s Health
and her BA from UMass Dartmouth. She is a certified Women’s Health
Nurse Practitioner, as well as a certified Nurse Colposcopist
(colposcopy is a procedure done for the evaluation and treatment of an
abnormal pap smear). From 1985-1987 she was the head of the Birthing
Center at Women and Infants Hospital in RI. Professional interests
include adolescent health, mid-life issues, and vaginitis.
Christina L. Corvo, MMSc, PA-C

Ms.
Corvo is a Physician Assistant who received her Bachelor of Arts in
Biology from Assumption College and her Masters of Medical Science in
Physician Associate Studies from the Yale School of Medicine. Before
joining Southcoast Woman’s Care, Christina worked at Bridgeport Hospital
in Bridgeport, CT for four years where she provided comprehensive
obstetrical and gynecological care, including office procedures and
deliveries. She is a member of ACOG and APAOG and is fluent in
Portuguese and proficient in Spanish.
Laurie A. Ferreira, RN
Laurie is a Registered Nurse with over 25 years experience working for Southcoast Hospitals Group, most recently as a Labor and Delivery nurse. Laurie is a breast feeding advocate and has had training in this area. Along with her work experience, Laurie is a Certified Reiki Master. Here at Southcoast Woman’s Care, she is the Nurse Educator for our newly pregnant patients. She is also the Triage Nurse for all the problem phone calls that come into our office.
